LR 2.6 Exported JPG randomly appearing as "untagged" not SRGB

I recently upgraded from LR 2.6 beta to LR 2.6. I should mention I also installed the latest security updates from Snow Leopard. When using the export module to make RAW files into JPG, I get strange and unusable files. Some of the files appear as normal JPGS with SRGB color profile, some never show a thumbnail, but just show the standard "JPG" thumbnail a file will appear as when it's corrupt in some way. I have tried this over and over again and I can't get exported jpgs out of LR 2.6. Also, besides the adobe standard, faithful, etc. in the camera profile tab should ACR 4.4 be the last profile listed when 5.6 is what I am using. I am a bit new to this and really need some help.

Cindy, welcome to the forum!

Yes, ACR 4.4 should be the last x.x profile as Adobe Standard is the new default. I don't think that's related.

Can you post one of the problem jpegs so we can download it? And what happens if you export to another format - say a tiff? Does that work?

Thank you so much for your response. In the meantime, I seem to have a new problem today. I deleted a few of my older updates from LR and now when I opened a new catalog, I am missing ACR 4.4 and 4.5 from the camera calibration tab. Do you think I should back everything up, make sure all my catalogs and presets are saved and reload LR2 and all it's updates?

In answering your question, I have made the same files into TIFF's and some worked and some didn't. I have tried today to upload one of the images that just appear with the .jpg logo and no thumbnail, but it wouldn't upload. I will try again. I am not sure what I'm doing wrong. I did download 2.6 again to see if that fixed the missing ACR versions, but they are still gone. Do you think if I downloaded Version 3 beta, it might be a better solution??? Thanks!!!

Hi Cindy

What camera? Only cameras that were added to ACR/LR before the Adobe Standard profiles were built had the old ACR 4.4 profiles. Newer cameras will only have Adobe Standard and possibly some camera emulation profiles. TIFFs/JPEGs/PSDs will only have embedded as the profile.

2.6 is a better bet than the 3.' beta. That's an early beta build not really suitable for any real work.

Victoria, I have a Canon 7d but also use a older 3'd as well. Before all this trouble started I did see the ACR 4.4 and 4.5 built into the camera calibration panel. But I deleted some of the older updates and when I restarted my Mac the other profiles were gone. Glad to hear that jpgs always say "embedded" as the profile, because that's one of the things I thought was wrong.

I will email you some of the bad files. I thank you so much for your help!

7d rings a bell as Adobe Standard profiles onwards. 3'd files should have the ACR 4.4/4.5 profiles though.
