I shoot in Adobe RGB CR2 format. Lightroom's User Manual states(p3'), "Raw photo files generally don’t have embedded color profiles. For raw files, the Develop module assumes a wide color space based on the color values of the ProPhoto RGB color space." What am I setting in my camera (Adobe RGB) if Raw files don't have a embedded color profile?
Rastus, actually, you're not setting anything. In this context, the AdobeRGB colorspace will only apply to the a) the JPG preview embedded in your raw file, b) the preview image on your camera's LCD, and c) the histogram of that preview on the camera's LCD. Generally, the only changes you can make with your camera's settings that affect a raw file, are the actual exposure settings, and the white balance. Even then, the white balance is simply a metadata entry, and doesn't affect the raw sensor data.
I have Adobe RGB as my color space in Photoshop CS3. When I export to PS CS3 does Lr convert from Pro Photo to Adobe RGB? Vice versa from PS back to Lr? Is it advisable to use compression when exporting to TIFF?

Compression is up to you, there are lossless compression settings available, that shouldn't affect quality at all.
I'm willing to go read I just haven't found where.
