LR 2.5 for Mac not seeing all images from camera on initial import

a weird problem just popped up. when i connect my camera and LR launches, i see some of the images on the card but not all. the only way i can see all images is to hit cancel and then go to file > import photos from device.

i'm using version 2.5 on a macbook pro (1'.6.1) and i reformat my memory cards pretty frequently.

any ideas? thanks.

it's by connecting the camera directly to the computer - no card reader. i've been thinking about getting one but i'd rather try to solve the problem first a different way. any other thoughts?

Try Marks suggestion, there are lots of reports of issues with d/loading direct from cameras that magically disappear when a card reader is used.
