LR 2.3 and import from a Canon 40D

Hi, this is my first post and I am sorry if someone already faced the same problem but if so, I didn't find it in the forum...

I used to import my pictures from my canon 4'D using the "import" function of Lightroom. After updating to LR2.3, this function does no longer work. After clicking on "Import..." in File Menu, LR freezes for 4-5 seconds and then nothing... If a USB key is plugged into my netbook, a first window comes up asking for which media LR should import the files. After clicking on the 4' D button, like in the situation above, LR freezes for 4-5 seconds and then back to normal...

For info, I'm using a Samsung NC-1' (on which I cannot install Canon's utilities because of the size of the screen... ).

Hmm, is it possible (you mention screen size concerns) that the import dialog is appearing somewhere behind an open window or otherwise out of sight? This is often reported with netbooks.

If that may be the case, pressing WinLogo key-alt-spacebar,M will put the current window with focus under cursor key move control. Try that to see if you can find the missing dialog.
