LR 2.1 crashes when opening colour selector

Hello

yesterday my LR2.1 started to crash every time I try to open the colour selector, for example: in the filter tool, or the colour splitting panel

I tried to restart the PC, check the catalog, remove and re-install LR,
but nothing helped, really weird...

any ideas?

That's a frustrating one Stefano!

I had the same a while back on my Mac, which turned out to be a colorsync issue, so it won't be that! You could check other programs, as it uses the operating system colour picker, to see if any other programs have the same problem.

I'd also try deleting/moving the preferences file.

you said that LR just call an external resource (OS) for the colour picker,
that's a good starting point to try to fix the problem, many thanks

Okay, I'm back to this topic

I met the same problem (LR crashing when using the colour picker)
with version 2.2 and 2.3RC, too.

However, today I installed the Service Pack 3 for Win XP,
and the problem is now magically solved!

it's quite a pity that I wasn't able to clearly identify what was the
