LR 2.0 external edit loses aspect ratio

I

1. import a photo at 4 x 3 aspect ratio
2. crop to 7 x 5 aspect ratio
3. select "edit in CS3" or "external edit" which I've mapped to cs3
4. image comes up in CS3 cropped, but at 4 x 3 aspect ratio
(horiz. pixel count is correct, but vertical is off!)

Has anyone else run into this?
