LR 2.0 catalog issue importing images in Windows XP

I've searched through the forums and here looking for issues like mine with catalogs. Nothing yet...

This began with one catalog, now affects all catalogs, even after a LR reinstall.

I create a new catalog. I try to import images, nothing happens. I go to Edit>Catalog Settings, then the import dialog comes up. If I tried to import images multiple times, then the commands sit in queue until I open the Catalog Settings. I've tried to Relaunch and Optimize from the Catalog Settings dialog, still nothing...

Any suggestions or anything I may be doing wrong? I'm still rather new to Lightroom.

sprale, that's a new one on me, but I did want to take a second to say Welcome to the Forums. I'm sure someone will be along shortly with some ideas for you.

Your sig says Lr 2.'. Is it actually 2.'? Might be worth upgrading to 2.1, if so. I'd hold off on 2.2 tho', some folks are reporting issues with that one.

Hi sprale, welcome to the forum!

I've never heard of catalog settings having an impact either!

Are you trying to import from a card reader or direct from the camera?

Files on CD are normally "Read Only" and that tag may have been kept. I am not sure if that can be a cause but what if you try to make the images "Read Write"? :roll:
