LR 1.4 Adds Yellow color/hue to all images

Hello :)

I have been noticing that Lightroom has been adding a yellow hue to my images. This is a more recent problem I never noticed it before but in the last 2 -3 months it has been adding a yellow cast to all my images that are imported into LR

I know it has something to do with color profiles cause they look fine when exported. Also if I recalibrate my monitors so that LR looks fine, my computer appears to have a blown, over-contrasty bluish green hue to everything.

I have tried recalibrating my monitors to proper settings but that does not work! And I believe it started when I installed the last update for LR.

I am using an nVidia color calibration software and LR 1.4.1

Any help on this problem would be greatly appreciated as soon as possible.

Nemik, Welcome to LR Forums. This will seem like a strange question, but what does your histogram look like? Is it showing the same characteristic, i.e. is the curve yellowish rather than white?

If so, this is likely a video driver or monitor profile issue. I also suspect this from the fact that your image is displaying OK in the Windows Picture Viewer, which is a non-color managed application, and can't really be trusted to show you a proper color representation.

If not, we'll keep trying.

It appears to have no white on the histogram at all here is another image.
The first on the left is the drawing's histogram and then I posted two others as well.

I suspect you may be right about the color profile issue. Also this image is using a photoshop adobe color profile and was imported directly from photoshop into LR and it looks fine in photoshop.

I am using CS by the way

Corrupt monitor profile has been the correct diagnosis for this sort of case, about 9'+% of the time. Check things out as Brad indicates.

That's going to depend on the OS.

Windows? Desktop Properties, Settings tab, Advanced, Color Management.

Click Add, you should see all the profiles available on your system. Just as a test, you might try a basic sRGB profile from the list. (This is not recommended for long term use, but if it solves your problem, it highly indicates that there's a profile problem.)

I believe the nVidia calibration is a software/visual matching system? Make sure that you're saving the profile from the process correctly, and that it's assigned in the procedure above.

A hardware calibration system is highly recommended (when the budget permits) :)

On a PC you can switch to another profile in Monitor s (IRCC) and just see if it makes a difference. If so, do a sight Calibration or buy a hardware calibrator. Canned profiles that install with a monitor are often corrupt out of the box.

Oh right sorry forgot that yes I am using Windows XP
And right now budget cannot afford a calibration anything or a mac which would be nice.

Anyways I updated the driver for the video card and reverted it's saved settings back to default when I did that the histograms turned to a nice medium light gray color. I also changed the color profile back to the sRGB, I was going to use the Pro Photo profile, which looked the best but, it made photoshop look purple so I just used the sRGB right now.

I can also use Adobe RGB profile you think that would be better?

I'm not sure I know what you mean by Hardware ID??

My computer sepcs are as follows

Windows XP SP3
Intel Core 2 Quad Core 2.4Ghz
4 GB Ram
nVidia GeForce 88'' GTX 768mb
Creative SB X-Fi Sound Card
2 TB Hard Drive
Dual Monitors
- Dell 23 inch
- Samsung 22 inch

Hi Nemik

For your monitor profile, don't go for ProPhoto or AdobeRGB. Stick with sRGB for the minute, until you can get properly calibrated. It's as close as you'll get.

I usually recommend the Eye One, but at this point, any monitor calibration hardware will be better than none.
