I'm using LR2.3 on Windows XP SP3 with 144'x9'' display. Exporting a slideshow to PDF seems to have an issue with lousy image quality -- looks like low resolution JPEGs expanded to full screen size. Looking back at some of my older slide shows, shows made with LR2.2 and earlier, are just fine with image quality very good for on screen presentation. Looks like there might have been an issue introduced in LR2.3. Is anyone else experiencing this issue? I can't find anything in a search of existing threads. Thanks!

Low image quality: export slideshow as pdf LR2.3

Try rendering 1:1 previews first, to see if that makes a difference. The Slideshow module works off the previews.
Thanks for the suggestion. I did as you suggest -- does not solve the problem.
I'm working from original RAW files (1' MP, Nikon D2'', converted to DNG on import.) When I play the slideshow from within LR, image quality is great. When I export slides to JPEG, I use quality = 1'' and screen size (144' x 9'') and quality is good.
Only when I export slides to pdf (again with quality = 1'' and size = 144'x9'') do I see the dramatic issue with poor quality images, and this only in LR2.3 (slideshows from LR2.2 and earlier were just fine). The pdf images look like they have been substantially down sampled and then expanded. Much of the fine detail is missing, tonal transitions are blotchy rather than smooth, etc..
Appreciate any suggestions others may have.
