Lost presets and keyword chaos in LR3 Beta

A few days ago, LR3 started acting strange. I optimized the catalog and then found my watermark presets had disappeared as had all of my user installed development presets. They are completely gone from the LR3 folders too. They are, however, still in LR2. Is there a way to get them from LR2 to LR3 on a Mac?

In addition, I have been having problems with LR3 keywords since the first beta. I end up with duplicated keywords. For example I have a "Tokyo" keyword, but I often find an extra "Tokyo" keyword listed and applied to a random number of photos. I cannot combine the two, so I end up having to delete one of the keywords and thus remove it from all of the photos it was on. At others times, strange keywords come up, such as the number "2" the other day.

Spelling is the same on the keywords, I have no keywords on the import presets, they just seem to come out of nowhere. Anyone experienced this?

Don't you just love beta software?!

The missing presets - have you, by any chance, got 'store presets with catalog' checked in either LR2 or LR3 preferences, or have you ever had it checked? If you look next to each catalog in Finder, is there a 'Lightroom Settings' folder next to it?

And the keywords... I think that's a screenshot job. At first glance, I'm wondering if Tokyo appears twice in the keyword list under 2 different parent keywords.

Yes, I checked that just before the disaster. wonder if that contributed. Anyway, there are not presets that folder for LR3.

As for the keywords, I have given up. Tokyo was under my Japan parent file, but would then appear as a separate keyword under no parent. I had autumn, spring, summer, winter under seasons and it would often just come up with another autumn, spring etc as a separate keyword under no parent, but these extra keywords would by added to a small number of seemingly randomly chosen files. I'll just key word in LR2 and wait til 3 is no longer in beta to deal with it.

Is it still checked? If so, uncheck it, and hopefully it'll pick them up in their usual location again.

Thanks Victoria...that worked and the presets are back. I must have misunderstood the purpose of storing presets with the catalog.
