Within the last 24 hours I have mysterious lost LR catalog information and image updates.
I'll describe the system, catalog conditions, situation and symptoms and perhaps someone can help...
System:
I'm using LR v2.4 (Windows Vista 64-bit version) on a Windows Vista Home Premium 64 bit operating system with 8Gigs of RAM using a dual-core AMD Anthlon 775' Processor (2.7 Ghx).
LR Catalog Information:
The LR catalog and files are on the "C:" drive of a 4 terrabyte RAID environment. The LR catalog and images have not recent been moved or otherwise reorganized.
The LR catalog has about 9,3'' images organized into many windows folders and sub-folders as part of one large collection.
The Situation:
One sub-folder of the collections, which itself contains 6 sub-folders and 11''+ images, now no longer properly displays. All the original pictures are still there in their proper places. Only the LR information is lost.
Symptoms:
1-When selected at the higher level folder the only LR images displayed are the ones contained in the very LAST folder... but none from any of the other 5 sub-folders.
2-When you select the FIRST folder within the subgroup then NO images whatsoever are displayed in it. It is as if they disappeared from the face of the Earth. But oddly, LR still retains knowledge that there should be 175 images in it.
3-If you select any of the other 5 subfolders within the subgroup then they display normally, including all LR updates and selections.
This strikes me as being very strange, as if an index file is screwed up somewhere.
I worked yesterday with images within the problem folder. I made LR image updates and exported those images and uploaded them to the Net. There is no event that I recall happening that signaled a problem. Everything seemed to work normally. Then this morning I look and the problem is there.
I sure hope you can solve this mystery.
Thanks for your assistance
