Following a backup I've "lost" four months worth of folders.
I reopened LR after the backup only to find that all work from June to present has disappeared - even images I was working on two minutes earlier !
I'm 99% sure that some - not all - of those folders have been "smart previewed" but they're not showing in LR, only in unedited format in Windows Pictures.
I would be grateful for any suggestions on how I solve this problem and get the edited folders back into LR.
Thanks

You probably opened an old catalogue. Go to menu item File->Open Recent and work your way through the catalogues listed there until you find the correct one.

Thanks Hal for your suggestion.
Given that this path showed up yesterday when I backed things up , I assume it's the correct one to "relaunch".
Thanks again
