Hi everyone,

My Mac hard drive became disabled. Although I had made back ups, for some reason my Lightroom photos did not back up and were lost. I stillhave the images on Lightroom but I can't do anything with them. Is there any remedy for thid situation? I admit I am not optimistic...

Thank you

JP

JP, sorry you're having trouble.

Yes, there's a little bit of hope. Marc Rochkind's LR Viewer, enables export of the contents of the LR preview cache. The quality of the export will of course depend on the resolution of your cached files. That resolution depends on a number of factors, including the choices you made when you originally imported/rendered the images, and your catalog setting regarding cache retention. Find LRViewer here:

LRViewer

If you used LR's built in back-up procedure, you should be aware that only backs up the LR database file. Neither your image files nor the preview cache are backed up during this process.
