Lost catalog

LR seems to have lost the catalog that I was using as my default. I tried to find it but it has been replaced by an earlier catalog that was still in my files. I'm looking for any suggestions as to how to retrieve it.

I have my photo library on a separate hard drive and back-up on a second drive. When I go into the back-up drive most of the photos are represented in the catalog but not the most recent even though I was sure I had backed them up.

How do I transfer the contents of the back-up catalog to the current catalog in case I cannot retrieve the original?

Hi Patrick, welcome to the forum!

Transferring the backup is really easy - simply duplicate the backup catalog (and OS copy/paste would do) and put it where you want your catalog to be.

As to where your previous catalog has gone, I'm mystified. You could do a search for *.lrcat files, which are the catalog files. Perhaps you moved it by accident!

I was successful in finding my lost lrcat in my back-up drive! With a quick copy and paste all is well again. Thanks sooo much.
