So here's my crazy story. I had Windows Vista 64, and it crashed after I installed an update. Had to format my hard drive so I just upgraded to Windows 7 64bit.
In Windows 7 I downloaded, installed, and activated the newest version of Lightroom (at the beginning of April, so it was LR 2.6), imported my old catalog, and everything was A-OK.
A couple of days ago I opened LR and a window popped up that a new version was available, so I upgraded to 2.7. After the upgrade was finished I noticed that I couldn't find my previous imports. LR had created a new catalog. I searched all 4 of my hard drives for .lrcat files, and only found the old archived ones plus the new blank catalog. So I'm basically missing the pictures that I imported and edited between my PC crash and my LR 2.7 upgrade. Where did they go? Obviously the pictures are still there on the hard drive, but all the develop settings, etc are gone.
Am I out of luck or is there any way to recover the 8 hours I spent editing these RAW files?
