Loss of book in Book module

Question or Description of Problem: I have lost 3 versions of a Blurb Book in the Book module. I originally saved the first file by clicking on Create Saved Book. What seems to trigger the loss is accidentally pressing Clear Layout, thinking that is for only one page. It seems to wipe out the whole book. Does the saved file exist somewhere? How can I recover it? Thanks.

Perhaps you could guide me. I have never had to look for a backup file.

The default location is a folder called 'Backups' inside your catalog folder. Do you have such a folder and does it contain backups? If not, do you use Apple Time Machine to make regular backups?
