Anyone else seeing that when you close LrC normally that the Lock, Shm, and Wal files for the catalog remain on disk?

LrC/14.0.1
Windows/10

I think on my system the lock file only exists after a crash or "not responding" situation when you may have terminated it in Task Manager.
Deleting it to the Recycle Bin is safe to do for me and will enable reopening the catalog.
As far as I understand the Shm and Wal files are part of a "ToDo" process that LrC will start in the background when you have forced an Exit and over-ridden a message something like "Lightroom has not finished ........." & "If you continue to exit, LR will do this later ....."
It's sort of like a Post-It-Note ?

Occasionally, yes. Usually if not always it’s connected to crashing or hanging, but often it seems the result of Lightroom not fully shutting down, which you only detect when you program , it fails to initiate, and you then see it’s already open in Task Manager.

I have noticed a slowdown of basic Lr housekeeping routines. Eg Export dialogue now has spinning circle before I can select export options.
Not sure if I should blame 14.01 or Win 11.... both recent upgrades .

I have to think it is LrC v14.0.1 Since I see the same in MacOS

On the other hand, I get a usable export dialogue with no lag at all (4000 images selected). 14.0.1, Win 10.
Also, I'm not seeing any of those files being left behind after I close.

Thanks. I know how these are supposed to work. In my case recently though they seem to stay there even with a normal shutdown of LrC but only for one catalog. I'm thinking there is something amiss in this catalog.

I've always blamed it on LR on Windows (I use both platforms equally), rather than on any one catalogue.
