After denoise the DNG sits at the bottom of library grid instead of adjacent to the original file. I then hsve to scroll back up to start editing the next file. It’s a problem

It sounds as though you have the sort order set to "Added Order", so changing the order to "Capture Time" should work.

Weird. I used denoise the first time yesterday and noticed that the in the "film-strip?" (across bottom) the denoised thumbnail which is "stacked" appears as the "primary" image ie 1 of 2 whereas a virtual copy would be added as 2 of 2. Not a problem but briefly confused me before I realised what was going on.

That is as expected. If you Denoise an image, then it makes sense that this will be your new master. And so it makes sense that it is placed at the top of the stack. If you create a virtual copy, then that is just an extra set of metadata. It makes sense to keep the first set (the ‘original’) at the top of the stack.

It wasn't any issue, just I'd not used denoise before and without checking just assumed it would be same as virtual copy stacking.

Maybe in part confused about exactly what AI denoise was being applied to as I was finding the denoise preview (where you set the denoise level) was showing the image as recorded and not including any develop edits - I had removed one sensor dust spot then denoised and the preview was showing the image with the dust sort still present but the denoise result was with the dust sort removed.

Also confused as I created a virtual copy, did a big crop (changing aspect ratio) then did denoise on the virtual copy and it ran through the 5 mins processing (on my old laptop) and then created nothing. Had to go back, denoise the original then create the virtual copy for the crop.

But as I say, undoubtedly finger trouble as I'd not used AI Denoise before neither read any instructions and even now no expertise after just a few images.
