Operating System

While attempting to import images in a folder I get "This appears to be a duplicate of another photo already in the catalog."
How do I locate images in the catalog. I enter the image name as I see it on my harddrive , Brick&Mortar10.25x7.25jpg and lightroom indicates no image found.
Help please.

Maybe the image in Lightroom is a copy with another name. Lightroom does not simply look at only the file name, but also at the creation date & time.

If you import into Date named folders, you should have no difficulty finding all files shot on the date of the file “Brick&Mortar10.25x7.25.jpg” flagged as a duplicate. Note that extension “jpg” is preceded with a period. Hopefully you were not searching for “Brick&Mortar10.25x7.25jpg”
