For years never had this problem, now when I try to import my photos it shows a dialogue box requesting I rename Photo 1. No matter what I do, it will not let me rename my photos within LR to import. I read that this might be caused by trying to import photos that match names previously imported. They claim the solution is to rename all your photos in Adobe Bridge software, then import them in a new file folder. I did so and sure the file name and jepgs I am importing do not have a name I have used before. Once again, the dialogue box shows up. I cant load my photos to edit them and it will not allow me to leave lightroom.

Suggestions?

Are you out of disk space?
LR allows files of the same name, albeit they need to be in different folders.

You probably have 'Rename Files' selected in your import dialogue.

If the 'File Renaming' panel doesn't show, right click on one of the other panel headers and make sure that section is checked.
