Lightroom won't open images at all

I've been using Lightroom with no problems for sometime now, but lately when I opened up the program all my files are not visible. All folders are still named, but all that shows in the filmstrip is a grey box, the same if an image is selected. I tried lightroom 3 beta, which at least shows the images in the film strip but just has a white box when one image is selected. I've tried all trouble shooting tips, optimising library, deleting preferences, I've even now deleted the whole program and reloaded it, but still the same result. All my files are stored fine, and open in bridge and photoshop. Just my world revolves around lightroom. I'm using a PC with Vista. Please, anyone, any ideas?

Occasional, welcome to the forums.

Did it ever work correctly with Vista? Any upgrades/upates involved? Video drivers up to date?
Are the images or folders showing '?' icons?

And the other classic... how are you calibrating your monitor? A corrupted profile can cause these kind of display issues.
