Dear Abby,
odd behaviour out of Lightroom today. it is not allowing me to import .cr2 photos shot yesterday and today with an EOS-1D MArk 3.
I habve tried multiple ways
1) Import directly from both the CF and SD cards either as .cr2 files or to convert these to dng files durin the import.
2) download to a folder on my desktop and then import either as cr2 or use Lightroom to convert to dng
3) convert the download files to dng using Adobe's DNG converter program and then import.
In all cases Lightroom will not import them or add them to the Catalog.
hardware; iMac 2.16Ghz Core 2 Duo with 3GB RAM installed. External storage (where Lightoom library resides) Drobo 2.
The iMac's HDD ( where the catalog lives) has about 5'Gb free and the Drobo 2 has over 1Tb free space. Both disks are healthy.
I have tried optimizing and relaunching the catalog, but it is still a no go.
there are around 51,''' iamges i nthe library
The catalog folder is 42.5B divided into the following four components
The Backups folder is 1.49Gb
The previews.lrdata is around 4'.12Gb
The catalog.lrgat is 996.5Mb
the catalog.lrcat.lock is 4Kb
What to do?
