The editing features of lightroom are great. It is just the organizational part that needs work.

Two things I would like to see for lightroom 3. First the speed needs to go way up in the preview section. I think you can look to iPhoto '9 and Picasa as a base speed for showing thumbnail previews. When I scroll in iphoto previewing thumbnails is instant. I really need very fast preview thumbnails so I can quickly make a first pass through the photos and eliminate the bad ones. Also I look at my thumbnails larger than the default so if you increase them somewhat they are very pixelated and must render again. All of this is slow. In the other apps I mention its fast. Also I like iphoto's event view. It would be nice if adobe implemented something similar as an option for browsing older photos (a picture is much more descriptive than some folder title).

The second thing I would like to see is movies being able to be stored in the catalogs. I don't care if I can edit them in any way but in order for me to use lightroom to organize my photos, I need a thumbnail of the movie and if I double click them to launch them in quicktime. It would be great if imovie could pick up the lightroom movies but I understand this may not be possible. Many newer dslr's and point and shoots have movie mode now. It doesn't make sense to have to organize these separately from the photos of the same events.

Right now due to the speed problems and no movie support, I only use lightroom for post processing work.

Also my system: Macbook Pro 17" 2.8 ghz unibody with intel x-25m SSD drive. So there shouldn't be performance problems from the laptop itself when rendering thumbnails.

LR3 isn't feature complete, so you never know what surprises await. Those are both popular requests.

There was a plugin for LR2 that did just that, how it basically worked was it generated jpeg files with an image from the video, stored this with the same name next to the video, then added that photo to LR's catalog.

It would be so cool to have the ability in LR 3 to be able to export multiple web galleries in the web module. As it is now, you can only have one single gallery for all the images. There are some 3rd party plug-ins that help, but it would be great to have all this in LR 3
