Lightroom Printing Issue

When I try to print from Lightroom 2.4 in 64-bit mode with my Epson 22'', I get the lined-through indicator on the "Print Settings," "Color Management," Paper Adjustment," and "Print Option" choices in the Print dropdown. When I change Lightroom 2.4 to run in the 32-bit mode, the lined-through indicator goes away and these choices are available.

Any thoughts on what the problem is? Is there an issue with Lightroom when in 64-bit mode? Is it OS X (I'm running 1'.5.7)? Or will Epson 22'' drivers not talk to 64-bit Lightroom? I know, I should get a newer printer. But that's a separate issue.

When I print from Photoshop CS4 the options are available, but PS CS4 for Mac is 32-bit.

Desktop and laptop are Intel processor Macs.

In another thread today I was asked why I switch from 64 to 32 bit for printing on Mac. My answer was exactly because the problems you are experiencing here. Mine is even older (Epson Stylus PHOTO 128') but its drivers do not cope well in 64 bits.

By chance, we are on Mac OS and thus, switching from 64 to 32 to 64 is just a matter of clicking a check box in the program info. Windows users have to install two version of Lightroom!

Just consider this as a little annoyance for now... :icon_neutral:

Yes, the issue is with the 22'' driver for OS X.

The newest driver is 32 bit only and does not do well at all in 64 bit applications. In fact, I get better prints with ancient Photoshop CS1 and my 22'' than with LR or any other photo application. (Though Lightroom really does do a fantastic job.)

I really wish they had updated the drivers just once more for the modern age. Things got wonky right around CS2.

Just save a printer preset in any 32-bit app. Then choose that preset when printing from LR2 running as a 64-bit app. It will print fine.
