lightroom not starting, again again and again...

its starting to really annoy me and I'm really starting to switch to another programm. this is probably the 4th post I do about LR quitting or not starting.
I've worked with 2.3 since it came out. really stable.
but since I'm using an epson 24'' and I'm on 1'.5.6, I had to do my printing either by starting my mac in 1'.4, since leopard did not print with my useraccount. then I read somewhere to install another user account , which I did, and this printed just fine, with the exception that I had to use another catalog, since LR wouldn't load mine from the other account.
but now it doesn't even start up anymore.not with permission repair, not freshly reinstalled, neither 2.2 nor 2.3.
just does not start anymore and my clients are waiting.
please help
p.s. you guys (and ladies) helped me before with a similar problem but I can't find the post anymore on the forum.

When it doesn't start, what exactly does or doesn't happen? Is there an error message, or any visible action?

If not, open up the Console (it's in the Applications/Utilities folder) and see whether anything shows up when you try to start Lightroom.

hi mark,
I got it to work again, by copying back the catalog, I'd copied to my other user account before. seems when you copy the whole lightroom folder from your pictures folder to another useraccount, it might not write the catlock file properly?because of permissions or something?
so the cat I had didn't open, and when I'd created a new one,the import from that catalog didn't work.
so what I learned from that is , make your backups daily,always go slow and doublecheck what you've copied and DON'T trust the administrator!

But be careful if you end with a .lrjournal file when LR is closed, never delete that!!;)
