Hi all. Here's the deal:
For some reason Lightroom doesn't seem to want to recognize the duplicate images from my CF card that have already been imported. I am importing directly from my CF card using a card reader and the Lightroom import dialogue box. Don't Imported Suspected Duplicates is checked and the settings are set to copy the images to the same location I always do.
I do rename the file number to have a 2 in front of the image number but I have been doing that for at least a year with no problems. But for some reason today, Lightroom is downloading the images into the original folder and renaming them with a -1 after the file name like this: IMG_23918.CR2 (orignal import) and then IMG_23918-1.CR2 (from today).
I'm really stumped as to what has changed. I haven't moved any of the files on my computer and as far as I can tell the metadata between the original file and the imports from today are exactly the same (both files say the Metadata is up to date). I also tried importing some files from a different CF card and I was having the same problem so I don't think it's related to the specific files or the cards.
Does anyone have any ideas as to why it would start doing this? I've never had this problem before.
I am on a Mac running Leopard and Lightroom 2.
