Import Lightroom not importing Live Photo's .jpg from iPad only .mov

Windows 10 version 1909

Lightroom is only importing Live Photo's .mov and not .jpg from iPad. If I remember to temporarily reset preferences to 'Treat JPEG files next to raw files as separate photos' it works OK and both are imported and shown separately. However I generally prefer to import RAW and .jpg with this unticked. This imports both files and just displays the RAW file.

Is there a better solution to automatically do both?

I don't think so. Lightroom sees pairs of files with one jpeg file as an original+sidecar combination, unless you check this option.
