Hi folks,

I'm stumped. I have deleted all my old import presets and created a new one. I have set it to rename files to Custom Name-Original File Number. When I import images they are renamed but not with the original file number. The name that displays uses the correct custom text but numbers I don't recognize, such as 2-3 or 2-157. So the file that should be EL-3267 (custom name - original file number) is instead EL-2-3 or EL-2-157.

If I delete the preset and use "none" as my preset with Custom Name-Original File Number selected. the same thing happens. If I use Custom Name (x of y) it works correctly.

I have rebooted my machine and have updated to Lightroom Classic 9.0, and am running Windows 10.

Any thoughts?

thanks, Elise

I think I fixed this. I was importing into a folder in Lightroom with the same name as the folder on the computer in Explorer so I had created a loop and LR renamed the images to prevent confusion. Fingers crossed. Thanks!

Oh well done Elise!
