Hi all, came across something I've never seen in LrC before. I was in the map module browsing photos that I'd applied GPS coordinates to. I'm not sure if I clicked on anything, pretty sure I didn't, but I got a task in the top left hand side of the UI (the standard location for task progress) called "Lightroom Loading Markers". It took some time to complete but I have no idea what it did. I cannot see anything obvious and there doesn't appear to be any changes to the metadata for my photos.

Does anyone know what "Lightroom Loading Markers" means?

Isn't that the process to download the "City", "Country", "State" etc, values from Google Maps ? Look in the location fields in the metadata to see if ther is values there.
Note that this download just "suggest" values that can change later on. That's why the are displayed in italic. To set them permanently, you must validate them.

I've been running this catalog for a few years now and I have the catalog address lookup settings unselected. If it is downloading values from Google maps, I've not noticed it before.
I mostly use GPX track logs to geoencode my photos. After that I use Jeffrey Friedl's Geoencoding Support plugin to reverse geoencode and fill in City, Country, State etc.
I'm not quite sure what's going on here?
