Lightroom Lite?

I use Lightroom on my Desktop at home but was looking for something that has the same search functionality of Lightroom for my underpowered work laptop. Basically I just want a way to view the images (no writing data to DNG's) on my laptop and edit at home on my desktop.

How does everyone else deal with this kind of setup? Do most of you export images as smaller jpg's and use another program to view them?

Marc at ImageIngester Pro has a LR catalog viewer. It may allow search functions. I would suggest taking a look at his web site to see if it meets your needs. http://basepath.com/ImageIngester/
