lightroom import and file problems

Hi! Lightroom will not import my files from card reader, hardrive OR camera. They will import when I switch to a mac but when i bring the new cataloge on my hardrive to my pc it says the files are damaged or unsupported, the same message it gives when it fails to import from my camera, hardrive or cardreader. What do i do?!

I am using Windows vista, have a Canon 5'D, Dynex card reader, Lightroom 2....Seagate hardrive... let me know if you need anymore info or have an answer to my problem!

"damaged or unsupported" usually maens you haven't installed the latest version of Lightroom. Please check to make sure you have Lightroom 2.5 installed (if not, then install it).

Also, please inform us of the type of camera you used, and the type of file (JPG or RAW)

Trying out the LR3 Beta

After successfully importing 3 times, was UNABLE to import from a 16gb CF Card using a Lexar FW8'' Reader.

Used the same equipment each time, and after the 3rd time can not seem to get it to import.

Hi to both of you, welcome to the forum!

NotYourAvGJoe, these are copies, aren't they? It's an early beta, so there is a risk involved, so you only want to be working on copies at this stage. Are there any video files on that card? The new import is a bit on the buggy side at the moment.

jandangray, I'd bet Paige is on the money with her suggestion.

Doh, my apologies Paige, I've only known Paige as a girl's name here in the UK.
