Lightroom hangs on launch

LR hangs for quite a long time on launch - sometimes more than 10 minutes. If I close the x button upper right and say just close the program to the dialog, it will launch reasonably well when I try again. I tried purging the cache. Can't tell it made any difference.

I have made no changes to my system since this started happening. I have not update Windows or LR.

Any ideas?

I have been traveling, so I am connecting to a different wi-fi each night, but I would hope that nothing to to do with LR launching.
