I downloaded Lightroom 2.6 yesterday. I have not managed to get it working. When I start the programme the cursor remains in the egg timeer states and just hangs. I am running on a PC Windows XP.

4 August 2026 It's Lightroom update time again. There are some new features, as well as bug fixes, new cameras and lenses.

Hi Eddie welcome to the forum. To be honest that could be pretty difficult for the folks here to diagnose. It's obviously related to your system software or hardware somewhere.
Make sure you have checked the following:
All the Windows updates installed
All drivers up to date
Check the Windows Event Viewer for any errors or clues.
Do you have or have ever had any earlier versions of LR installed ?
