Lightroom edit in with regard to elements???

I am going to be doing a training on Lighroom in the Atlanta area for some photo clubs and I use PS CS4 to edit. I understand elements 8 can be used via LR to edit in. Does any earlier versions of elements work with Lightroom?

I have used PSE 7 together with LR 2 in the past, and I would suspect that PSE 6 also works, since PSE6 catalogs are the ones you can import into LR2.

Just about any editor can be set up as an auxiliary editor in Lightroom. The trick is in sending the right type of file to the editor.

Edit>Preferences>External Editing
Set up your older version of PS Elements as an Additional External Editor using the TIFF file format. Pick the largest color space and bit depth that particular version can handle and save it as a Preset. I have personally tested back to Ver 5.
