Is it possible to have the lightroom Classic Subscription but also keep the existing lIghtroom 6 Standalone perpetual on the same Computer.? Want to try the Subscription version but don't want to lose Lightroom 6 till I'm sure the new version is OK.

Yes, it's perfectly possible. LR Classic will use an upgraded copy of your existing catalogue, so just be careful not to open LR6 and do new work in that catalogue which might clash with work you're doing in the Classic one.

Saftey tip. You need to go into the Advance option (sorry not sure where) during upgrade and select you want to keep LR6 otherwise it will be uninstalled. I missed that step on my upgrade. In order to get it back, I have to uninstall LR Classic and start over. Not worth it.

The only thing I'm not happy about with LR Classic is that it's not handling my printer profiles for my Epson 1400. I've had to change my print workflow to let the printer manage colour.

Technically it is not possible, but the difference is actually a bonus. What will happen is that Lightroom 6 will become Lightroom CC2015. That means you will see the additional features that were introduced between Lightroom CC2015.0 and Lightroom CC2015.14. These features were not in Lightroom 6.
