So what am I doing wrong. Trying to work on the sky and when I select the new mask tool and select Sky the foreground goes Red not the sky.
so have tried a few pictures even some from 2019, same issue. Then discovered a newer version 11.4.1 but same problem. Tried to find heplpull You Tube video on the New Masking process
but not been successful.

Invert check box - over on the right above the sliders.

It sounds lilke the "Invert" box is checked on the select sky mask. But, what is puzzling is that I don't know of any way for it to default to being inverted when a new select sky mask is created. So, first let's see if that is the problem.

1) Make sure that the mask containing the Select Sky is the active mask by clicking on it in one of the problem images2

2) is the invert box checked

2) If you toggle the Invert checkbox, does the "pink" move to the sky portion?

If none of that works, send us a screen shot of the masks panel

Thanks
By clicking the invert button I can now make the sky selected and adjust.
However I think I still have an issue in that by using the Custom Effect and use exposure, now two exposure settings are available with different effects on the picture and the invert checkbox changes.
I need to play around tommorow to if I can make sense and then provide more information to seek advice.

Regards

Rob

I don't follow what you're saying about two exposure settings being available and "invert checkbox change"? Can you explain in more detail or provide screen shot?
