Lightroom CC Preferences

Is there a "correct" way to delete and regenerate the Lightroom CC preferences file? Can I just move the file to the Trash folder and start Lightroom CC and let it generate a new preferences file? Or do I have to move the preference file to the Trash, delete Lightroom CC, and reinstall Lightroom CC?

I'm currently working on an update to my "Reset the Preferences" document, but there's a quicker way now with LRCC....simply press and hold Shift+Opt/Alt when starting LRCC and you'll get a dialog box asking if you want to reset the preferences.
