Import lightroom cannot import files from another catalog due to unknown error

Using the latest version of LR on windows, I m trying to import about 400 jpgs from one catalog to another. I never had any issues with this operation until today. LR keeps throwing unknown error when I try to import this batch of images. I was able to import some images thru trial and error. I assume the catalog is corrupted? Is there a way to fix?

Try opening the source catalog, selecting the 400 photos, and doing File > Export As Catalog. Then import from the exported catalog.
