Lightroom and Time Machine

I apologize in advance as I'm sure the answer to this question must be contained somewhere on the forum even though I was unable to find it.

Have the incompatibilities between Lightroom and Leopard's Time Machine been resolved? Is it still recommended practice to disable TM backups of LR catalogs and have LR back up its own catalogs onto another drive? Or is it now safe to allow TM to backup my LR catalogs?

The official line is it's still best to disable TM backups.

Apple's 'fix' for the same problem for Aperture was simply to automatically disable TM backups of Aperture files, which would suggest it's still not a great idea.

I noticed that when doing its own backup, LR only backs up the catalog itself and not the previews. Is it OK to continue having Time Machine back up my previews? Besides the question of whether corruption can occur if TM is accessing the previews while LR is working, I'm wondering if LR can gracefully handle the situation where I restore a catalog backed up at one time and previews backed up at another. I realize the previews can be rebuilt, but that could take quite a while...

I would have thought that TM would be ok backing up your previews - they can be rebuilt if they were damaged. Why not run a few tests to double check how LR gets on with matching up older previews and report back.
