Rileywoo, welcome.

I believe so. You'll have to use the scanner's or third-party software to scan the images to hard-drive, and import from there. Lr is intended primarily to work with digital camera files, and while this seems like hair-splitting, scanners haven't been an area of importance thus far to the Lr team.

I have used both Nikon Coolscan( slides) and the Epson V75' Pro( negatives). As what Brad said, you have to create files on the internal or external hard drives from the scanner. Once, you have those files then you can import those images into LR and thus create links between LR and the files. Remember, LR does not have its own files. It just remembers what adjustments you made and does it on the fly when it accesses the files on your hard drive.
