Lightroom 64 bit cd burn question

I am now running Windows 7 64 bit and would really like to have the ability to export to a cd like we had with 32 bit. Is Adobe going to fix this or is it gone forever? jc

Last time I checked, the 3rd party drivers that they use weren't available in 64-bit yet. Hopefully that 3rd party will catch up before too long. They don't like having features that don't work on all platforms, so their aim would be to bring it back as soon as they can.

Well - depressing, but just the answer I was looking for when I suddenly found myself without the option to "export" to a CD/DVD. +1 Thanks! :icon_mrgreen:

I just finished installing LightRoom on my brand new system. I was the happiest person on Earth, right up until I tried to export my photos to CD. The lack of burning capability on Windows 7 64 bit is downright unacceptable. It destroys an otherwise great workflow and really slows things down. I'm very disappointed that Adobe has not fixed this. The excuse that the 3rd party vendor is to blame really doesn't hold much water when you look at the price of the products. Either find another driver that works or make one that does. I can't believe Adobe couldn't put enough pressure on them to make something happen quickly.

[/quote]I would rather it happen 'Right the first time' and to happen quickly. Many peripherials that worked in Vista did not have drivers whe I upgraded to Win 7. (My printer was probably the biggest issue) Now I have drivers for most all I need. I still can't find a Gigabit PCI Express card that has drivers for 64 bit Win7. I can be patient with Adobe. I can still burn a CD ouside of LR. So what is the big issue here?

I notice that it is nearly 18 months since the last entry here and this problem still exists. Does anyone know whether there is a target date for fixing this? Tony

Hi, welcome to the forum.

Although I have no idea as to when/if a specific 'Burn to CD/DVD' export option will be available, I do know that it IS still possible to export to that media type under Win7 64bit. To do this, simply select 'Hard Drive', then in the Export Location box choose 'Specific Folder', then click on the 'Choose' button. In the 'Browse for files or folders' dialog box click on 'Computer' and your available drives should be listed, including your optical. Click on that and you should be good to go. Although I don't burn exports to CD/DVD, this 'workaround' has worked every time I've tested it.

Hi, Jim, thanks for the welcome.

I'm aware that there is a workaround for this - in fact I always used to do this the indirect way. But then I found out that it was possible to do it directly from within Lightroom; except that it wasn't.

Maybe one day.

Hi Tony, welcome to the forum!

It's not very often we hear complaints about this any more, so it might be worth reporting it as a 'bug' on the Official Feature Request/Bug Report Forum where Adobe are reading, just to bring it back to their attention and remind them that people still consider it important.
