Lightroom 6 activation

Due to a computer crash, I was unable to deactivate LR6 from the old computer. Now I'm trying to get it going on my new computer, but I'm getting the pesky sign-in screen. I had it taken care of a few months ago by an Adobe agent. I had another crash, so that activation is gone and the guys I talked to tried to sell me on the idea of upgrading, which I can't neither want nor can afford. Legally, they are the ones who interfered with my software that I purchased fully.
In my Adobe account, there are no activated devices.
Any ideas on how to get this solved?

Thank you very much Rick.
I did as it says with the offline activation. However I am failing to understand if I have to wait 72 hours or if I am doing something wrong. I keep getting "session expired".

I am only asking because I would like to know if I should keep trying or wait
