Lightroom 2 won't load XML

I have a problem in that while cleaning up my disorganized hard drive, many of the CR2s and XMLs associated with them got separated and some thrown out. I found orphans and remarried them but a few will not talk to each other. I have two photos particularly that the XML and CR2s are in the same folder, have the same name, but when I import them into LR2, it will not use the settings to filter this picture I worked so hard to make.

Any ideas what has happened?

Hi Tim, welcome to the forum!

You could try importing, and then going to Metadata menu > Read Metadata from Menu and see if that'll recognise the details.
