Lightroom 2.6 reports 'The file appears to be damaged'

This is happening with the Pentax (PEF), DNG and JPGs. I find it hard to believe that images of all types report 'The file appears to be damaged'. Lightroom seem to handle the images just fine. Having recently aquired Lightroom 2.6, it would be nice to not have this rather dire message. Any ideas??

All files show this warning? Or just some of each type? Or....?

Which flavor of Pentax? Are the DNGs SOOC or converted PEFs? Can you describe your process flow getting images from the camera to the Import dialog and cataloged?

I shoot DNG+JPEG. While I have seen this message, I don't recall it ever occuring when loading directly from the SDHC card. Do you have a card reader capable of reading SDHC or is is an older card reader that only spec'd for SD cards and thinks it reads SDHC cards too.

Hmmm,

I'm using SDHC (4Gb) direct from the camera K2'D, it may be that the transfer speed from camera to computer is not adequate. I'll purchase a card reader and see what effect that'll have.

Before rushing out to buy a card reader, have you tried simply copying the files to your hard drive using Explorer (it should see your camera as just another drive if you have loaded the camera driver), then importing from the hard drive into LR? Worth a try maybe?
