The last few times that I have imported photo image files from a Lexar (6''x 16GB) card, Lightroom 2.6 has crashed when the import process is completed. The Import dialog box reappears, the card is not ejected as requested in the Import dialog, and Lightroom has to be Force Quit. Then the MacBook Pro has to be manually restarted. When I recheck the external hard drives the files are copied successfully, and Lightroom has added them to the .lrcat catalog file ??? .

I am downloading NEF files, using Snow Leopard (1'.6.2), downloading to an OWC external hard drive connected via a Sonnett Tempo SATA Expresscard/34, and copying a copy of NEF files to another OWC external hard drive (I have tried connecting the 2nd hard drive via both USB and FW8''). I am also asking Lightroom to generate full-size previews.

I have tried updating the driver for the Expresscard/34, but no help. Apple files are up to date.

Would appreciate any suggestions or recommendations.

Thanks in advance,

Stan

Is it just that card that causes the problem ? If so try formatting the card in the camera and test it again. You could also try testing an import without the Eject Card box ticked. It may be the ejection of the hardware that is causing a hang.

I shoot Nikon RAW and use Lexar cards and even have a OWC FW8'' drive but have never had that problem. (I don't use the eSATA card though)
