Lightroom 2.6 Export Question

I want to export about 5' pictures with post processing to an action in Photoshop CS4.
I am able to do this with no problem.
My question is, that each picture is opened individually.
I can save them one at a time, but that would take forever.
Is there a way to select all of them at once and save them to a folder?

I think the key word in your question is Export. Yes, you can export to a folder of your choosing and all the files in that folder could be cataloged on export. You could then subsequently open that folder in PS.
You can also use the "edit-in" option on the {Photo} menu or from the Context menu. If you choose the "edit-in" route. every image file will be opened in PS so that when control of the process is turned over to PS, you have 5' image windows open.

Im confused by your answer.
I am exporting 5' pictures from Lightroom 2.6 using a post processing action I have named "Framed". Then CS4 opens and processes the action "Framed" to my 5' pictures.
Now I have 5' files opened in CS4, completed with the frames.
I want to save them.
Can I do a save all in CS4 to a folder for my 5' finished images?
Or do I have to save each one individually?

You might consider altering your Photoshop Action "Framed" to include a Save As and a Close operation. That would accomplish your task.

How can i add that to my existing action in CS4?
I am a novice in CS4 and was given the action.

[/quote]Your question was a CS4 question. And I gave you a LR answer since this is a LR forum and I assumed that you were asking a LR question. I think Rikk has you on the right path.

I would recommend you hit the CS4 Action and Scripting forum and ask them for the advice. I routinely do use Photoshop Droplets as Post-Processing Options in Export. The actions I use typically have a save as part of the routine. I am not a scripting and action expert so I would defer to one of them to advise you as to the nuts-n-bolts.

Hi
I tried your solution and it worked if I only exported 1 picture from Lightroom.
It saved and closed it to a folder.
But when I selected a few pictures, they exported to CS4 and the action was performed, But it did not save any or close them.
I still have to save as and close each one.
Any suggestions?

The key to the process is to encase the action inside of a PS Droplet. The droplet is then run as a post-processing piece in the LR Export Dialog. The droplet will handle all of your PS saving actions. I misspoke when I said to put the "Save As" in the action. It should be placed in the encasing droplet.

Again, this is a Lightroom forum and you will get better help in a Photoshop forum for your particular issue.

Nope, you were on the right track putting a save as in the action Rikk, otherwise it'll keep asking for a jpeg compression setting (assuming you're saving as a jpeg).

If you want to edit your existing action, duplicate it first by dragging it down to the 'new action' button (or I think it's in the right click menu too?), select the last action in the action (sorry, that doesn't make much sense!!), and then press the record button (little red circle at the bottom of the actions palette). Do the actions you want to record and then press the stop button (little square at the bottom of the actions palette).

Ah, Victoria I would never save the result back as a JPEG so I haven't run into that. My primary use for this is green-screen extraction so I always end up with an alpha channel. I always go back as a PSD from my Action/Droplet routines.

Thanks VB, I searched your blog a couple of weeks ago for that tip for somebody, somewhere, and came up empty. It still comes up as not found using your Blog search capability, but I just Google:site searched for it and it does come up. I just figured it got lost in the move. :) I'm not sure if it's supposed to come up in your blog search panel or not.

It's not on the blog yet I don't think... it's on a to do list! I really must get around to that. I have just discovered it was one of the sample PDF's too though, should you ever need it. Oh boy, I have some website updating to catch up with.
