Lightroom 2.5/3.0 Beta Not displaying main image in Loupe or Develop

I have encountered a problem recently where I can see the small thumbnails of my imported Raws but can't see the main image which you use to assess how your image is looking. It is affecting the whole catalogue so renders the program useless.

Do your learned members think it is a corrupt thumbnail cash?

I have tried deleting the preferences folder/file as well as creating a new catalogue nothing seems to work.

I have un-installed the program and reinstalled it same issue.

I downloaded the beta version of lightroom to see if this worked and to no avail, the same issue.

I am concerned that the beta is picking up on some setup file, or something in the registry which is transmitting the issue to the new version.

Very frustrated with this. Any ideas? I have attached a screen grab of how the problem looks.

Hi Paul, welcome to the forum!

That's a weird one! First thoughts would be a corrupted monitor profile or graphics card drivers need updating, but that would usually affect the thumbnails too. Worth a try though. Recalibrate your monitor and update your video card drivers and see if that helps.

Do the pictures show up in Loupe view in Library? If so, I'd try clearing the camera raw cache (preferences > file handling tab > purge cache).

You said creating a new catalog doesn't help, didn't you. With the same photos or different ones?

BTW, try all of this with 2.5 for the minute, and leave beta 3 out of the equation until we have this figured out!

I had a corrupt monitor profile which was causing the issue. Uninstalled the profile and reinstalled a generic and it now works a treat.
