All,

Wondering if anyone else is experiencing this issue: My exported jpegs are showing artifacts which look like bar's:

My system:

Windows 7 64Bit
Lightroom 2.4 64Bit

There doesn't appear to be any pattern to the occurrances, edited, un-edited, raw, tiff, larger jpeg.

It's driving me nuts!

Hello Jonathon, haven't seen anything like that before. I'll leave you to a Windows/Canon guru.Welcome anyway!!

Welcome Jonathan! I'd agree that it is likely due to Windows 7 (although others have reported using it without problems).

Is it all .jpgs or just random ones?

Hi Jonathan, welcome to the forum!

So if you export the same file to multiple formats, does it happen each time? i.e. could the original file have minor corruption? When you zoom in in Develop module, do you see the same bars?

And where are the files and where are they being exported to? Internal or external drives?

Ian,

Windows 7 could indeed be the culprit, but why isn't it happening continuously :-\ I have always been one to hangout on the cutting edge when it comes to software versions. Alas, I don't have a non-windows 7 system to test with... might try a VM of Vista to see if the issue can be re-produced.

Breyman,

Only random ones, and what's more interesting... if I re-export them the pattern of bars is different.

Victoria,

Haven't tried the export to multiple formats... must do later. As for minor corruption, no evidence of that. Indeed the source shots come from multiple cameras, multiple SD cards, etc.

The files are all being exported to local disk.

Just an idea, can you replicate this in 32bit??

Could be a memory issue, maybe run MemTest too.

Ok, tested it in a clean install of Vista 32 last night (in a Virtualbox VM). Exported one of the folders of images from my main catalog as a catalog and imported into the new install. Then did an export as JPEG using the same settings... and no issue.

Will try with 64 bit this evening...

Thanks for the update Jonathan!

Ok, so tried the export to jpeg on another Windows 7 64Bit host with Lightroom 2.4 -> no issues. That was using an imported catalog of images.

So had a brain wave... reinstalled Lightroom 2.4 on my primary system (win 7 / 64 bit), and used the existing catalog, etc...

And no issue....

So it appears to have been just "one of those things"

Move along now, nothing to see here :-)

Ah well Jonathan, pleased it's working now!! ;)
