Lately I have been having a problem transferring files from Lightroom 1.4 into Photoshop for further editing. If it transferred them at all, they wound up there as 4x6 jpgs instead of full size. No amount of effort would correct the problem. There were other problems, too.
Sunday I had a showing coming up and I really really needed to get some work done before the showing. So I thought if I'd reinstall Lightroom, make the updates, it would fix the problems I was having.
Not!
After the re-install, it wouldn't see anything! Nada! Zip!
It could not find the catalog at all. It wouldn't establish a new catalog. In other words, I was dead in the water!
So I decided the only thing left to do was to uninstall and re-install Lightroom 1 and proceed with the updates, and try again.
Worse and worst! Now it won't even import anything. Can't see any thumbnails, even straight out of the camera. Tells me the files are corrupted.
But I could see them perfectly well in CS3 Bridge!
Getting desperate to get ready for the showing I uninstalled Lightroom 1 and downloaded the great new Lightroom 2.
Wow! I thought; it found the catalog and updated it to Lightroom 2 without a hitch! And, sure enough, it performed very well for my showing and slide show.
But now when I try to see anything in Bridge, it is invisible. A white wall. It will tell me there are 216 files, of which 216 are hidden files. If I tell it to view hidden files, I still get a white wall.
Any suggestions? Why did Bridge work one minute, and five minutes after installing Lightroom 2, it is inoperable?
HELP!!!!! I really need to get all this working again!
