Library thumbs not showing highlightedpic

Sometimes in Library the highlighted pic does not show in the thumbs in the filmstrip at the bottom i.e. the filmstrip stays at the first image despite clicking on a pic halfway thrugh the folder of 15'' pics. This having come from Develop. Is this normal? If so, it's annoying!

No. That isn't normal behavior. Usually when you pick an image it shows up as the middle image in the filmstrip.
